Evensong

The final evensong of the season features the timeless beauty of Mexican Baroque choral music.  Music by Juan Cabanilles (the 'Spanish Bach'), Manuel de Zumaya (the 'Handel of Mexico'), and Ignacio de Jerusalem (the 'Haydn of Mexico'), as well as others from that milieu, will be featured. The music of this period carries profound religious significance, intertwining indigenous and European influences to create a unique and deeply spiritual musical tapestry.

Before the Evensong, there will be a 30-minute recital featuring the works of J. S. Bach, and after the service, there will be a reception featuring food inspired by the vibrant culture of Mexico.
