Through Christ let us continually offer to God the sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his Name. But do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
— Hebrews 13.14, 15

Pathways to Generosity is not about giving to fund a budget but giving from a grateful heart to participate in ministry that changes people’s lives.  Using a Giving Path as a model, Pathways to Generosity invites people to move along the path as they grow in their giving and deepen their faith.  The messages used in Pathways to Generosity focus on two important questions:

1.     Why should I give or be generous?

2.     Why should I give to my church?

Why should I give or be generous?  This is fundamentally a spiritual question rather than a financial one.  Each of us is on a journey that begins with an understanding of God’s blessings in our life.  When we realize how we have been blessed with health, family, breath, life, relationships, and grace, we see the magnitude of God’s presence in our lives.  Out of gratitude and thanksgiving, we are compelled to give back to God as an act of worship.  As children of God, born in God’s image, we are born to be loving and generous.  Pathways to Generosity is an invitation to become the people God created us to be.  Generosity is an invitation into a deeper relationship with God based on faith and trust.  Scripture is full of Jesus’ teaching on giving and generosity.  These teachings are the foundation of Pathways to Generosity.

Why should I give to my church?  It is true that people may be generous but not giving to your church.  Often they are not fully aware of the life-changing ministry happening as a result of the generosity of your supporters.  People invest in the ministries of your church to be a part of something larger than themselves.  They give generously because they want to participate in a ministry that is having an impact.  The Pathways to Generosity process provides an opportunity for your church to share the transformational ministry that is happening through your church and invite people to partner with you by providing financial support.

As people begin the Pathways to Generosity journey, each begins in a different place on The Giving Path. Regardless of where they are on the path, everyone will be encouraged to pray, “God, where do You want me to be in my giving?”  The prayerful and faithful response of each person will be the measure of our success.

why give?

All Saints Giving Statement

As children of a loving God, we believe that we are created in His image. All that we have is a generous gift from Him.

With grateful hearts, we seek to follow the example of Christ, being transformed by God’s love, loving others as He loves us, and sharing generously of ourselves as bearers of His reconciling love in the world.

And God invites you to join in this calling, by participating prayerfully in the ministries of All Saints Church by offering of your time, talents, and treasures in joyful witness to His love and saving grace. Thanks be to God.

Your annual generosity enables us to sustain our vital mission. Thoughtful, intentional stewardship ensures that our parish will be able to know and to share the love of Jesus Christ for the greater good of our cities and neighbors.
