The Season of Advent: Advent I

Exile reminds us of longing—a separation from home and hope. Ancient Israel and Judah, exiled in Assyria and scattered in Babylonia, yearned for redemption and the fulfillment of God’s promises. In Advent, we share that ache, awaiting Christ’s return to restore all things.

Let exile shape your prayers this season. For wherever you have been and for however long you have been far away from God, from yourself, and from the ones who know you and love you most, the Lord Himself is carrying you home.

Let exile shape our common prayer today: Come, Lord Jesus. Gather us from our wandering and lead us home to You.
