Architecture of Prayer: Exploring the Lord’s Prayer
How do we cry out to God? And how does God teach us to pray?
Every true prayer begins as an answer. Before we ever speak to God, God has spoken to us. In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus places on our lips words sturdy enough to bear the weight of every season of life.
Join us for a new Rector's Forum series as we explore the architecture of the prayer Jesus gave us. Week by week, we'll linger over its familiar words, discovering how they shape our hearts, order our lives, and draw us more deeply into the life of God.
We'll also consider the architecture that surrounds us. Churches are more than beautiful buildings; they are prayers in wood, stone, glass, and light. Across the centuries, Christian artists and architects have answered the brokenness of the world not by turning away from it, but by creating places that bear witness to the beauty of God's kingdom breaking into our own.
Together we'll discover how the words we pray and the spaces we inhabit teach us to live the prayer at the heart of the Christian life: "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
